Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Pal AI website (the “Site”), including any demos, AI features, or services provided through the Site (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must not use the Site or Services. Use of Pal AI embedded on municipal partner websites may be subject to additional local terms or disclaimers provided by the municipality. 

Use of the Site

You may use the Site for lawful, informational purposes only. You agree not to:

Use the Site or Services in violation of any local, provincial, or federal law
Submit malicious, harmful, or misleading input into any AI-powered features or demos
Upload or transmit malicious software, code, or other disruptive content
Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, decompile, modify, or gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or Services
Scrape, copy, harvest, or redistribute content, data, or AI-generated outputs without prior authorization
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
Generate or share AI responses that are false, harmful, misleading, or inappropriate
Interfere with or compromise the functionality, security, or availability of the Site or Services

AI Content Disclaimer

Pal AI is an artificial intelligence tool that generates conversational responses to user queries based on public municipal data and general knowledge. While we aim for accuracy and helpfulness:

AI-generated content may not reflect the most current or official municipal policies.
Responses should not be relied upon as legal or regulatory advice.
Users are encouraged to confirm important details with the relevant municipality.

Privacy and Data Use

By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of anonymized usage data to improve service functionality. We do not collect sensitive personal information unless explicitly submitted (e.g., contact forms). For more details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

We use cookies or similar technologies to enhance your experience. You may manage your preferences through your browser settings.

Pal AI is committed to compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. Unauthorized use may result in legal action.

The Site and Services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees regarding accuracy, reliability, or availability.

We are not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from your use of the Site or Services, including but not limited to loss of data, interruptions in access, or reliance on AI-generated content. 

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page and take effect upon publication. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes. 

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and any applicable Canadian federal laws. 

Termination of Access

Pal AI reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend or terminate your access to the Site or Services at any time and without notice, including for conduct that we believe violates these Terms, is harmful to other users, or is otherwise objectionable. Upon termination, your right to use the Site and Services ceases immediately. 

Third-Party Links and Services

Third-Party Content and Links The Site may contain links to third-party websites or integrate third-party services. These are provided for convenience only. Pal AI does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party content, products, or services. Your use of any third-party website or service is at your own risk and subject to that party’s terms and policies. 

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pal AI and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Site or Services, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
